Hospitals invited to participate in Joint Commission pilot study!
New Pilot Study
The Joint Commission is developing new measures for screening and treating tobacco and alcohol use . The measure specifications are currently being reviewed by expert panel chairs, Drs. Michael Fiore and Eric Goplerud. Pilot-testing is set to begin by March, 2010 once measures are reviewed.
The Joint Commission is inviting accredited hospitals to volunteer and join this groundbreaking pilot study. Hospitals that volunteer will have the opportunity to provide input on the measures thus shaping the final construct and specifications for national implementation. The Joint Commission would like to get as many hospitals involved as possible.
