Tanjira Wilanwanchit

Tanjira accepted the position of Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director, Connie Revell, in the Smoking Cessation Leadership Center (SCLC) in February 2006. She has worked closely with Connie and William Rypcinski, the Finance Manager, on administrative and financial related matters. Prior to joining SCLC’s members, Tanjira had worked at the Business Office and the Research Administration Unit within UCSF’s Department of Medicine for about half a year. She fulfilled various training courses and developed skills in using proprietary software for data entry and retrieval. Some of the functions and positions she performed for both groups include cash-handler, event-planner for the department’s chair, and clerk-typist for the Finance and Research Administration Directors.

In August 2006, Tanjira graduated with a B.A. degree in International Management from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies Field at University of California, Berkeley. While studying, she also served part-time as a waitress at Thai Spice, a modern Thai Restaurant in San Francisco. With three years of experience in the foodservice industry, she was promoted to become the Assistant Manager. Tanjira is currently working there on weekends as her second occupation. She is responsible for running the restaurant’s dining room and acting on behalf of the owner’s absence.

Tanjira hopes to further her education in the business field after she has several years of working experience. Having passion for artwork, she completed a few courses in drawing and architectural design. She aspires to become an interior designer to create artistic and functional design which her clients may enjoy.
